A Healthy Balance: Teacher Nutrition
A Healthy Balance: Never Deprivation Only Preparation
The key to nutrition in regards to living a healthy lifestyle is finding BALANCE. When people hear the word “Diet,” they automatically assume the foods they cannot eat like: pizza, chicken wings, pop, or ice cream. Dieting can have detrimental physical effects. At times, you’ll feel run down after an extended period on a restricted calorie diet. The other downside of dieting is that it can slow down your metabolism. Your body may adapt to a lower level of calories, which can stall your fat loss. "Treat Meals" though, throw your body a curveball and shocks your metabolism into high gear. The key to nutrition in regards to living a healthy lifestyle is finding balance. That means it is perfectly fine to build in a “treat day” to your current nutritional intake with 3 rules to remember:
- Pick one day out of the week you will use as your “treat day.”
- "Treat Meals" should be used in moderation.
- Splurge your calories only on the things you love the most.
