Rise N Grind Granola

Once you make this ridiculously easy recipe for homemade granola, you'll never buy the packaged stuff at the store again. Great as a snack or scooped on top of your favorite yogurt. And as a bonus, it will make your house smell amazing while it bakes! Cinnamon not your thing? Check the variations below and find your perfect granola combo.

Cinnamon Granola

  • 3 cups whole oats
  • 3 cups chopped mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, cashews,etc.)

For syrup:

  • 1/4 c. Vegetable or peanut oil
  • 1/3 c. Agave nectar or Honey
  • 1 T vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt- if none of the nuts were salted
  • Optional: 1 c. Raisins or dried berries
  • Preheat the oven to 250.

To prepare the syrup: whisk the oil, agave nectar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt if using in a large bowl. Pour in the nuts, and stir a couple times.  Add the whole oats and stir again until everything is thoroughly coated in the syrup. Enjoy!

Pour granola onto a large baking sheet and spread evenly. Set a timer for 15 minutes.  Remove tray and use large spatula to toss the granola. Spread evenly again and return to oven for another 15 minutes. This will ensure even toasting. Bake for a total of 1 hr 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Mix in raisins or dried berries if using. Store in airtight container or in individual serving size bags for easy portion control. 1/4 cup is the perfect amount of granola to add to a single serving of yogurt.
