The Pursuit of Happiness: Chiropractic Self Care

The Pursuit of Happiness: Chiropractic Self Care

Chiropractic care can benefit anyone’s health and well-being, but for some it can be particularly beneficial. While this is not to say that not everyone should receive chiropractic care, it does affect those who are extremely physically active whether engaging in training and exercise, manual labor, or sitting at a desk all day.  One group that would mostly benefit from chiropractic care are teachers and educators. These men and women stress their bodies so much while teaching content while standing all day, exhibiting poor posture, stress, and inconsistent sleep and rest patterns. Incorporating chiropractic self care is essential to make sure everything is in working order and functioning at maximum potential.

Health & Wellness: Quality of Self Care

Overall health and wellness can be accomplished by eating healthy foods, getting enough rest, and adopting a consistent training regimen. Another way to improve your quality of life is chiropractic care. As educators, we are met with stress at times way before the bell even rings and students begin to enter the classroom. Stress in the form of lesson plans, staff meetings, observations, or technology issues.  Honestly, stress levels may even go into OVERDRIVE as soon as the alarm goes off in the morning after we hit snooze three times!!

The benefits of chiropractic care extend beyond pain relief.  Teachers are often on their feet ALL day. Very rarely do they have an opportunity to sit at their desk because of demands that need to be addressed within the classroom. Meaning, stooping down at a student’s desk to help with classwork, extending and reaching while writing on the board, or zig zagging throughout the room looking for a teaching “tool” you misplaced.

A chiropractor can be an excellent solution if joints feel restricted, inflamed, and don't have a full range of motion. With chiropractic care, the spine is relaxed, and proper communication is maintained between both the brain and body.

Make the ‘Adjustment’: Identify the Symptoms

Chiropractic care aims to ensure that the spinal cord and everything associated with it functions correctly, proactively, and reactively. Pain is usually a symptom of an underlying condition, and chiropractic treatment can help identify underlying issues. A few of the symptoms include: bad posture, limited range of motion, knee, foot, and ankle pain, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and back pain.

A chiropractor can help with the above symptoms ( as well as so much more), so it’s easy to see how it can influence long term well-being. Getting an adjustment from a chiropractor is the best way to start feeling better. Adjustments performed by a chiropractor are safe, gentle, and effective for improving overall wellness.

Benefits of Chiropractic Self Care

Regular chiropractic adjustments help you stay on top of your health and identify any emerging problems before they become serious. Too often, we neglect the needs of ourselves because we have to attend to EVERYTHING else in life that takes from our energy levels physically, mentally, and emotionally. This is quite evident in the teaching profession.  A chiropractic adjustment is a natural alternative to medications and surgery. As well as relieving pain, chiropractic promotes the body's natural healing process and has several life-changing advantages.

Chiropractic treatment offers the following benefits: boost the immune system, improves mental health, decreases stress, better range of motion, aids in better sleep, and increases energy.

Pieces of the Puzzle

Your body is the most important thing you have in this world, and you only get one of them. For this reason alone, it is vitally important to make sure you do everything you can to maintain and care for it. One of the easiest ways to do this is to make sure your musculoskeletal system is in as good of shape as it can be. It becomes more and more important to maintain flexibility and muscle tone as we get older.

If you can do this, combined with consistent training and healthy nutrition then everything else will fall into place!
